Julia Davis - YoCo Community Picnic: Join us in person and online

We are hoping lots of people join us from near the Orchard, bring your sandwiches, drinks, something to sit on and we will be having fun exchanging ideas about what you want to see on the development site - play areas, types of housing, sorts of streets and connections into where you live now, the types of shops and facilities, the wildlife or outside events you'd want... and lots more!

To ensure we include everyone whilst we are talking about the physical environment on the ground, we are experimenting with a simple Zoom meeting online when, again, we will be sharing our picnics from our sofas, exploring "food lines"; the sort of places and spaces we want to share food in and writing on online poem - so come along to the Zoom room and have some fun if that's your preference

Its a bit of an experiment we know, but that's what we like at YoCo, exploring all our ideas together and finding different ways to do things that work for our own communities near the site.  So we will be zooming into the Zoom room from the picnic a few times.  Don't worry if you haven't a phone or laptop, or don’t know how to use Zoom we will be (socially distantantly) sharing the experience.  And in the Zoom room we shall pop in and see how the physical picnic is doing too - so everyone can share the experience, wherever you are with staying in or going out

- make a YoCo picnic story from the Zoom room or the picnic blanket

So after our picnic we will be collecting up paintings and drawings that have been done together near the Orchard and checking into our collaborative poem online and making a wonderful YoCo collaborative piece which we hope to use on the building site hoardings when we actually start work on the site.

It will be great to meet you and share a really fun explore with our communities working together, sharing food, ideas and having a fun picnic on August 8th.  we really look forward to seeing you!
